The annual Starr Symposium, named after Martha Jane Starr, is funded by the Starr Education Committee.  It is a forum to address women’s issues and family concerns. The UMKC Women’s Council and UMKC Women’s Center partner together to bring nationally known experts in women’s issues to work with community leaders and examine ways to eliminate barriers that face women.
